Description
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that functions as an agonist of the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a). In experimental models, GHRP-6 activates Gq/PLC-dependent calcium signaling pathways that regulate growth hormone release and hypothalamic–pituitary axis feedback. Preclinical research has investigated its role in somatotropic signaling, orexigenic (appetite-related) pathways, cardiomyocyte peptide signaling, and neurobehavioral models assessing memory and central nervous system peptide activity. GHRP-6 is widely used as a research tool for studying ghrelin receptor pharmacology, endocrine signaling dynamics, and peptide-mediated metabolic regulation.
